FABRICATION AND ASSEMBLY: The Light Distribution Tube (LDT) is made with a multi-ply combination of polycarbonate films. It has an ever increasing curved, wedge-like light distribution surface (LDS) that reflects and scatters the collimated light from the light source out of the tube. The interior and exterior films have a protective hard coat, shielding them from exposure to ultra-violet radiation, providing a high degree of abrasion resistance and protecting the tubes from numerous chemicals. These films are rolled into tubes and bonded permanently along their longitudinal seam. ASSEMBLY PROCESS DESCRIBED:
1. Assemble poly cardonate film laminates with 3M VHB tapes "in the flat".
